BACK AT THE RANCH

Back at the ranch, memories of my childhood echo around every bend. There really is no place like home.

For this shoot, I decided it was time to visit my roots. The cactus patch in the first few photos, had grown immensely since I was a child, but it still holds the same sort of magic I remember. Places that evoke recollection of childhood make me so happy. Even hanging out with the cows and horses made me remember how childhood is so full of love and innocence. Animals always make me feel like my true self.

I’m so happy I was able to kidnap Paulina to my little slice of heaven in Gaviota and show her where I grew up. In the past, it was so hard to take photos in places like this, since I would do it all by myself, but, now that I have a photographer side-kick, the possibilities are endless! We had a ton of fun running around the property, playing with the animals and laughing. The cactus patch ended up being a huge giggle fest as Paulina made me climb into the middle of the patch, and I could not stop getting poked in the butt between poses. So precarious.
