BLACK BEAUTY

☾✩
Another ranch adventure finally hits the blog! Let me tell you, this portion of our shoot was definitely NOT as cute and cuddly as it looks in the photos. While this black pony is adorable, he turned out to be a total wild and rambunctious animal to try and work with. The truth of the matter is, that more than half of the time I was fighting for my life while this crazy pony bit me and pulled up my dress with his teeth. I forced him to love me though. He really had no choice. Thank goodness for Paulina’s photo skills otherwise you would be viewing photos of me bleeding and hopping over fences, running for dear life.

Lately, I feel like I’ve been living in a dream. I have some extra exciting and amazing things happening once the new year hits that I cannot wait to share with all of you! This dreamlike state inspired me to edit this shoot in true Wild & Free style. Lens flares and light leaks forever. This style reminds me so much of my old blog and I felt it went perfectly with my GoldDust Dress by the inspiring Roxana Zal. Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Roxana and working with her on a short lookbook shoot. I’ve worked in collaboration with Roxana since I began the Wild & Free Blog, so meeting her in person was a true gift. She is one of those individuals who I really look up to and experiencing her creative energy and kind heart made it feel like I’ve known her forever! Plus, her dresses are SUPER RAD, so you really can’t go wrong with this babe. Check out her current collection by clicking HERE.

On a final note, I want to share this quote:
“It’s all about falling in love with yourself,
and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you,
rather than looking for love to compensate
for a self love deficit”

With the year nearing it’s end, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’ve learned the past twelve months. I think this quote nails it. Ever since high school it feels like I’ve been on this endless journey to figure out how to truly love who I am. I think it’s a common perception that finding love for other people can help fill the void you may feel towards yourself. While this may work temporarily, real happiness comes from the ability to appreciate and embrace your true self. Once you learn to start loving yourself, amazing people enter your life, and things start to happen that you would have otherwise never experienced. There’s so much power in the ability to be confident and happy with who you are. Remember that. It will change your life.
