Just another Joshua Tree adventure for the Wild & Free Blog. Releasing these photos slowly makes me feel like I never left Joshua Tree, which is exactly what I like to pretend is actually happening.
In reality, I’m back home in Santa Barbara, but I can still feel the desert air on my skin when I look at these images. Something about the desert always draws me in. If only Joshua Tree had a hidden ocean, it would be perfect.
My days back home so far have been spent working really hard on Wild & Free. It’s that time of season when I work from when I wake up, until when I go to bed, and then I take a mini vacation back to the desert for the love of Coachella.
In the meantime, I will spend my days buried beneath flowers and feathers in my office, taking the occasional break to go to the gym, or get kidnapped by my friends to eat pho and watch Cinderella { which is exactly what happened last night }. At the risk of sounding like a complete little girl, I confess that Disney Princess movies are probably my favorite type of movie. Cinderella I’ve always loved so deeply because I too believe in being kind to people, no matter how much hatred they have in their hearts. That’s something that I think about nearly every day, and that push myself to remember when others send negativity my direction.
With so much pressure on perceiving external beauty as a priority in our society, I adore how Cinderella stresses that internal beauty can shine through above all else. Her story is one of magic, hope and remaining true to yourself which are all things I hold close to my heart. Sometimes I think we should all try to be a little bit more like Cinderella, and after watching the new movie last night I especially think this is true.
So that’s my mini-rant on Cinderella and here’s a little more inspiration I found via Instagram this week:
I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
xx Corina
