It’s a bit sad, but extremely rewarding to finally publish the end of my Tulum series on the blog. I wanted to end with a shoot inspired by mermaids, only because I’ve been living in an office full of seashell crowns and dreamcatchers for the past few weeks and I felt like it was time to dedicate a blog post to the new designs I’ve been dreaming up for Wild & Free Jewelry.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love all things involving the ocean. Any time I’m stressed or having an off day, I take a quick stop at a local beach and let the salt water cleanse away any bad energy. It’s possible my love for the sea got a little carried away a couple of months ago when I ordered a massive amount of seashells from a wholesale company (seriously, no one should ever have this many shells in their possession at one time). I knew I wanted to use the shells to create mermaid crowns, since I’d been dreaming about the perfect shell crown for months, but I didn’t anticipate the shells catalyzing a series of headpieces and dreamcatchers reflecting my intense love for the sea. Once I started working with them, it was hard to stop.

Here are a few of my favorites so far…

So, basically… I’ve been living in a black hole of shell creations and I’m not sure if I’ll be getting out anytime soon. Expect lots of new shell and mermaid inspired designs on the horizon.
