☾ ☆
Basking in the last autumn light watching my favorite mountains change color again. It seems I’ve found a new home in these hills, escaping a couple of times a week to de-stress and find myself in the wilderness.

This look is inspired by an epic outfit I admired immediately in one of the new Free People lookbooks, combined with the softest, fuzziest, most wonderful coat from Sanctuary Clothing. The good news is that it’s 100% adventure certified, and I say this with complete sincerity, because I scaled a humongous mountain in these boots and didn’t twist my ankle.

It’s safe to say that the sunset the night of these photos was one of the prettiest ones I’ve seen in my entire life. I almost couldn’t focus on capturing it on camera because I fell in love with it in real life and I kept getting distracted. At the top of my lone mountain peak I could see depths of rolling California hills on one side, and the distant Pacific Ocean on the other. I watched the entire sky light up and dance with cotton candy colors until it cast a uniform blue dusk.

I always enjoy how a mere thirty minutes away from bustling traffic and sounds of the city, I can find this silent oasis in the mountains, with no soul in sight. I sat in my world alone and thought about how magical life is in the wild. How something as simple as a majestic sunset can bring so much happiness and evoke the spirit of true freedom. I’ll probably spend my entire life chasing this feeling and craving its existence. My soul yearns so deeply to belong in the wilderness, a place that continues to remind me that life is full of wonder, beauty and love.

xx
