The day we took these photos was the coldest I’ve ever been in my entire life. With 40 mph winds and 45 degree weather, we had to do shifts between taking photos and sitting in the car with the heater blasting. Thankfully the dreamy sky made it all worth it.
I found these rad antlers at the Rose Bowl Flea Market a few months ago and knew right away I wanted to use them in a shoot. The Show Me Your Mumu jumper I’m wearing is the first outfit I received for the blog that inspired me to use the antlers. Its cut out form and bell sleeves are simple yet bold and I think it’s my new favorite dinner date outfit.
Unfortunately, our timing with the weather was not on par with my vision for the shoot. Fortunately, my friend Jenny is a trooper and she froze her butt off with me to get a handful of photos that I love. As if I transformed into Maleficent herself. If I look cold in these images it’s because I’m suffering from a mountain weather induced ice cream headache.
This is the first blog post of the New Year, and my mind has been buzzing with things I want to talk about in reflection of how 2015 ventured for Wild & Free Jewelry. I’m working on a piece (to be released in the next week), summarizing my thoughts on being an entrepreneur for 5 years now! Eeeppsss… It does not feel like it’s been five years at all! I get a lot of questions regarding running your own business or even where to begin when it comes to embarking down the road I took with Wild & Free and I’ve finally made it a priority to sit down and gather my insight on the subject. So stay in touch, and in the meantime enjoy these photos of me turning into a popsicle with antlers on my head.
