The day I took these photos was so windy that my hair actually straightened from the hot air brushing it back at full force as I scaled the mountainside. I almost turned around and went home because I knew it would be a struggle to get a good shot, but I persevered and eventually found a semi calm area to set up my trusty dusty tripod.

That afternoon was full of excitement. I befriended two hummingbirds, nearly had a heart attack from witnessing a huge alligator lizard scurry across my feet and watched a breathtaking sunset in solitude as the warm gusts rattled the tall grass around me.
