Big Sur will always have my heart. This post is long overdue, but I’m finally finding the time to publish it beneath the heaps of orders I have to fill. These images are from a few weeks ago when I spontaneously visited Big Sur with my Mom. I basically made her follow me around, playing my photographer, as we braved strong wind gusts at Garrapata Beach (Thanks Mom! You’re the best!).

Nearly everywhere we went was in full summer bloom, with tons of vibrant flowers reaching out over the turquoise ocean. Whenever I’m around that many wildflowers, my heart feels so full. I just want to stare at how beautiful they are forever, which makes the next paragraph even more heartbreaking….

Right now, a raging wildfire threatens the beauty and magic of sacred Big Sur. It has burned more than 43,000 acres, sparked by an illegal campfire at the very beach I ventured for this shoot. My heart goes out to this wonderland, in hopes that the flames are contained soon.

Back in the office, this week, I’ve been hit with a surprise influx of orders, from being featured on BuzzFeed and Nylon, which is ever so amazing, but also insanely CRAZY as I leave the country in a week on another short trip. I’m currently playing catch up trying to get all my orders out before I leave. Eeps!

Up next, I will FINALLY be sharing some of my Guatemalan journey with Thread Caravan!

LOVE all of you! Thank you for following along.

xx
