☆☾ Hi Dreamers! Hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend. I’m taking a time out from constructing crowns to write this post and share a couple pieces of magic that have been adding positivity and freedom to my days.
Last month I re-connected with Vanessa from Crafturday. Years ago, when my blog was a baby, (so long ago that I was still making flower crowns and boots for Wild & Free Jewelry), Vanessa and I connected and ever since I’ve been a long time fan of her creations and mindset on life. The gold star necklace I’m wearing in these photos is part of her new collection. I LOVE that it’s essentially three necklaces in one.
Vanessa’s social media is among my favorite to follow. Her vintage aesthetic and moving words make my feed feel illuminated by the side of life we too often forget about – that our human experience is all about the ups and downs, the vulnerability, and the growth that emerges as a result of this wild ride.
I’m honored to wear Crafturday’s jewelry and support this kindred spirit who inspires me on so many levels.
This connection and beautiful piece of jewelry is number 1 on my magic list today. How amazing is it that social media allows us to unite, share knowledge and create alongside one another?
The second magical thing that’s been on my mind, is the power of perception. I wrote about this a little bit on my last post but the concept has continued to re-emerge the past few days and I it’s something I hold close to my heart.
I feel as though learning how to change your perception is like trying on a new pair of sunglasses. When you switch out the lenses, suddenly things begin to appear in completely new colors and depths. Even though you know you’re looking at the same surroundings it suddenly begins to feel so different.
This is exactly how it feels when you learn to alter your perception. I think this is a magical piece of information because it means you don’t have to feel a certain way if you don’t want to. It gives you the power to sculpt your own reality instead of feeling like a victim of circumstance.
There are many events in my life that I can circle back to where I felt very distressed because of an inability to see things in a certain light. Instead of taking a step back and flipping my perception, I allowed myself to become emotionally drained and exhausted. I’ve found the best way to practice control over an active mind and avoid unnecessary stress is to use that analytical power to try and interpret another perspective.
For instance, instead of feeling upset at failure and fixating on the mistakes, realize that from the depths of failure blooms a second chance to learn and forge a new path with experience and fortified determination. You don’t have to dwell on the negative because in nearly every situation there is an opening for light.
Once you practice this approach one time, it becomes so much easier to apply it in different situations.
We can all manifest magic.
I hope this adds a little extra sparkle to your Saturday.
