Last month I packed up my bags and drove up the coast to beautiful Big Sur. This time around I styled all my outfits with threads from French label Poppy Biarritz. Each piece from Poppy Biarritz embodies a vintage aesthetic inspired by surf culture and a love for the planet. Although Big Sur isn’t a destination for iconic surf spots, I felt the wild ocean and freedom present along the entire coastline would make Poppy Biarritz feel right at home.
I took my new threads on roadside picnics, a swim in the river beneath towering redwood trees and a glimmering shoreline sunset. This was the first time I’ve adventured to Big Sur solo with photoshoots in mind and while I did meet up with friends for part of my trip, I found so much happiness in the moments I spent alone. No matter how many times I experience Big Sur, I find myself perpetually amazed by its beauty.
Below you’ll find a peek into the world of Poppy Biarritz via outfits I styled with their Make Love not War Sweater, Sisterhood Collective Tee & Surfer Lover Tee. I’ve also included a handful of landscape images I shot on film as 35mm grainy snapshots seem to make Big Sur appear even more dreamy.
a special note on Poppy Biarritz
One thing I LOVE about Poppy Biarritz is how intentional this label is with their imprint on the earth. The owner and designer behind the label, Alyssa, informed me that she uses organic cotton, water based inks for printing, and ships orders plastic free! She’s also made a point to work with fair trade production facilities and has joined the movement 1% for the planet.
I adore when labels work hard to create a business that considers their influence and strives to make a difference. Be sure to give the gorgeous Poppy Biarritz a virtual visit, and if you’re feelin’ extra loving, check out their current giveaway to win a Sisterhood Collective Tee via Instagram! ♡
